The real, live nammynools!
Here are my 'nammynools'.

Leica came into our home on Sunday, August 13, 2006. She was a shelter rescue from Kansas. I can't imagine that her reality was that she was an inconvenience, but there it is. She's a wonderful little girl - about 7 1/2 years old and ready and willing to be a part of our family.

Howard is the adventurer, the explorer, the teenager, the bond between us all. He adores Bert, loves to play with Ichabod and will chase anything that moves. He bolted out of the house once and was lost from us for nearly two weeks. He took off out the door and was untraceable. Only by God's grace did he show up in the backyard and allow me to grab him. He was so thin and scared, but now he's back to normal and exploring anything he can that comes into the house.
Ichabod is my boy. He loves to be loved, but definitely on his terms. However, as aloof as he tries to be, he is the first one to trot onto my desk for some affection, and will do anything in his power to get some snuggling when I lie down on the couch. He's even started nudging Max for some regular affection.
Bert is my old man. I realized that he is 15 years old and you can tell that he feels his age, as do I. I'm very thankful that I've never had to deal with the back problems that many dachshunds have, but Bert doesn't do too many stairs anymore. He spends his days sleeping and then wagging like crazy when I get home. he loves french fries, but only gets 1 or 2 of those a week.
Bert passed away in October of 2005. It was one of the most difficult things I've ever done, but his poor little heart finally gave out. I loved him and recognized when it was time to let him go.
